In case you missed it: Up until now you could convert a year of Gold into a year of GP Ultimate with a little loophole that allowed you to convert up to 3 years of gold after purchasing a month of Ultimate into 3 years of Ultimate. I'm honestly surprised it took this long. Mines up in November so I guess that's it for me. I don't use it enough anyway. Though it does alter my thoughts on if I even want to bother with Starfield on GP since I'll only get 2 and half months. The 1 year Gold conversion only affords you 4 months now. Maybe not bad if you can get a good sale on it.

So long loophole...

EDIT: Lmao it occurred to me that I only caught the last 20 minutes of GMM and I wondered if they covered it. They did, of course. Well, at least some of ya'll might not have heard.

I got mine so I'm good. But this along with the recent price hike suggests that Microsoft is done with the growth at any cost phase and is more at profits now phase, so we'll see how that impacts the service.

I'm fine with paying about $6 a month for a service that I don't use a whole lot. Once this runs out, I'd say it's very unlikely that I'll continue with the service at full price. But that question won't be relevant until early 2025.
